NHRA New England Nationals Update

To Our Loyal New England Dragway Fans:
All of us at New England Dragway understand the COVID-19 outbreak is currently disrupting your lives. We are sensitive to the concerns and uncertainty felt by individuals and businesses as our nation combats what we all hope to be a short-term outbreak. We are closely monitoring the situation, as well as guidance available from state and local officials. We remain confident life will return to normal and we remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for racers and race fans alike.
We recognize NHRA’s decision to cancel the 2020 New England Nationals is a huge disappointment to our loyal fans. It's a significant disappointment for New England Dragway as well. We were initially approached by NHRA to consider the possibility of postponing the event. During a special meeting of the Board of Directors, representatives of the NHRA outlined their concerns and expressed that the issue was a time sensitive matter. With the event being five months away, the Board intended to gather more information, allow the situation to develop, and make an informed decision closer to the time of the event. The Board felt a decision to postpone was premature and notified NHRA that it wished to hold off on making a decision for 30 days. Obviously, that did not happen. We want to stress the decision to cancel the event was made entirely by NHRA and against the wishes of New England Dragway.
Even though this was not a New England Dragway decision, we apologize to those who have supported us over the years. We put significant effort into our events to provide an unmatched experience. Your passion and loyalty have helped us provide the best motor sports entertainment possible. You can be assured we will continue to work hard to ensure that tradition continues here at New England Dragway.
We also want to thank our brave first responders, exceptional medical professionals, and the resolve of each and every one of you as we overcome this challenge and work to restore normalcy to our lives.

OCTOBER 24, 2026 - TRUNK OR TREAT
Help us wrap up the racing season with a day full of Halloween fun for the whole family! This year’s celebration will feature racing, games, creative trunks, trunk awards, and plenty of CANDY!
Whether you’re decorating a trunk, dressing up for some trick-or-treating, or just coming out to enjoy the festivities, there’s something for everyone!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us last year — we can’t wait to welcome you back for another spooktacular celebration!

Have a creative Halloween idea? Turn your trunk into a spooky, silly, or totally unique Halloween masterpiece! Dress up, decorate your vehicle, and hand out candy to our trick-or-treaters.
Trunk Hosts participate for FREE!
Help us plan for the big day by filling out the Trunk Registration Form. We’re expecting approximately 400 trick-or-treaters, so please come prepared with plenty of candy!
Businesses, organizations, families, and individuals are all welcome to join the fun!
Trick or Treaters - Costumes? Check. Candy bag? Check. Ready for some Halloween fun? We’ll see you there!
Trunk-or-Treat is FREE and open to all trick-or-treaters and their guests. Come dressed in your Halloween best and get ready to fill your candy bags while exploring all the creatively decorated trunks!
Please take a moment to review these important guidelines so we can keep the Halloween fun safe and enjoyable for everyone!

TRUNK SETUP: Trunk Hosts may set up on Saturday, October 24 from 12:00–1:15 PM. Please arrive during this time to give yourself plenty of time to get decorated and ready for trick-or-treaters!

DON’T BE LATE: Trunks arriving after 1:15 PM may not be able to participate due to the high volume of foot traffic and safety concerns.

STAY PUT: For everyone's safety, Trunk Hosts must remain in the parking area until New England Dragway staff confirms it is safe to leave.

KEEP IT SPOOKY, NOT SCARY: Decorations, themes, and costumes must be PG-13 or lower. Any trunk, theme, or costume considered inappropriate will be asked to leave.

CANDY RULE: All candy must be store-bought and in its original packaging. Homemade treats are not permitted.

BRING YOUR OWN MAGIC: Pop-up tents are welcome! Just make sure they are properly secured and safe.

NO HOOKUPS: There are no electricity or water hookups available on site, so plan accordingly.

SHOW OFF YOUR BUSINESS: Businesses and organizations are welcome to display signage and hand out promotional materials along with their candy.

ADD SOME FUN: Want to make your trunk extra memorable? Simple games and activities are welcome and encouraged, as long as they are safe and appropriate for the event.

CLEAN UP YOUR COBWEBS: All trunk areas must be cleaned up by 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 24. Please take all supplies, equipment, decorations, and trash with you. Trash barrels will be available on site.
Prizes will be given out by New England Dragway officials for the following categories: Spookiest Trunk, Best Trick or Treat Stop, and Most Boo-tiful Trunk.
